In Ontario, designated substances are governed by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and specific regulations are made under the Act for each substance.  The services offered by Maple Environmental address the needs and regulatory requirements of our clients from both a construction and a manufacturing perspective.  Services offered in this area include:

  • Identification and inventory
  • Abatement design, inspection and air monitoring
  • Assessments
  • Control programs
  • Respirator protection programs
  • Medical surveillance programs

Under the Act, a Designated Substance survey of building materials must be performed prior to renovation or demolition.  Further, where any of the Designated Substances are used in a manufacturing process, a control program must be instituted.
